This article on the NY Times is pretty interesting. It talks about some serious issues associated with mass production farming of livestock. My favorite part is that in the future we may be eating tissue culture beef. Yuuuuummmmmy!
For those of you that are of the vegetarian variety, let me thank you in advance for saving energy for all of us.
PS- if you find this stuff interesting Nat is reading the Omnivore's Dilemma and she loves it.

Yes, I highly recommend Omnivore's Dillema, though be forewarned that it is quite disturbing to learn the realities of modern conventional farming. It has spurned me to join an organic CSA.
The book has also cemented my belief that we should be doing our best to eat as little processed food as possible AND that high fructose corn syrup is the spawn of the devil. I'm doing my best to eliminate it from our diets.
An interesting article. I have learned alot about food production in the past couple of months. Perhaps this book will be the first on my summer reading list.
