Not all balls are for chewing
Our good friends Nate and Steph were kind enough to send our two dogs (a.k.a. The Girls) a pair of dog chew toys they felt were too large for their Porky-Yorky Riley. The toys were chocolate-flavored tennis balls. While I didn't think the girls would mind either way, they were both fairly interested in the toys and about 5 minutes after opening the package, Phoebe had already split one of them in half. What you can see in the picture above is the remaining piece of the tennis ball, appropriately labeled in case the dog may want to check halfway through the chew cycle what flavor tennis ball he/she had gotten.

Chocolate flavored tennis balls sounds just about as tasty as tennis ball flavored chocolates.
Do they have strawberry flavored tennis balls? My dog and son would like those.
Hahaha...very funny.
My kid is starting to get out of the "putting-everything-in-his-mouth" phase but only because he's putting stuff in his ears or down the back of his diaper OR trying to put stuff in my mouth.
He was eating fruit snacks the other day and offered me one. I let him put it in my mouth and he said "Thank you" but it was only after he put it in there that I realized that he'd pulled it out of his mouth before feeding it to me.
I've learned to look closely at anything he tries feeding me now.
No, it is very sweet - just like how mama-birds pre-chew food for the baby-birds.
Phoebe always tries to lick our mouths when she's hungry. I've heard this behavior reflects wolf puppies, who lick their mothers mouths when they're hungry. It stimulates vomiting and they then eat some of their mother's partially digested food.
Well, when she licks my mouth when it is open it definitely makes me think about vomiting.
I wonder what the conversations would be like if we actually sat down face-to-face. I'm guessing more subdued but still fun.
Happy Birthday Bernardo!
Haha. Thanks aron.
